Last week, the Philippines’ coronavirus cases breached the 6,000-level.

The country’s daily testing capacity have also increased as more laboratories receive certification from the Department of Health (DOH) and Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM). Despite the increase in laboratory facilities and conducted COVID-19 tests last week, the country’s testing capacity lags behind other neighboring Southeast Asian countries.
